Seniors Prorgam

The Board of Education recognizes the many talents and skills possessed by the senior citizens of our community and welcomes their contributions to the Sheridan School District, its schools and the children.
With this in mind, Sheridan Schools is pleased to continue the Sheridan Tax Assistance Rebate for Seniors (STARS) program for the current school year. During this time, senior citizens will have the opportunity to work in the school district and apply their earnings toward payment of their residence property taxes.

WHO QUALIFIES ?
Any senior citizen 60 years of age
or older with taxable property who
resides within the Sheridan School District.
HOW MANY HOURS CAN I WORK?
An eligible senior can work up to 104 hour*
through the school year. you and your supervisor determine the schedule. Work as few or as many hours per month as you would like. It's up to you and your supervisor to decide.

WHAT JOB ARE AVAILABLE?
Principals and/or supervisors indicate which jobs can be done, but many are available including:

+ Office assistance office
+ Student academic assistance
+ Computer lab assistance
+ Library helper
+ Lunchroom assistance
+ Classroom/student helper
+ Playground helper
+ Handy work…and more!

HOW DO I APPLY?
Just complete an application form
available to you through the STARS
office. Call (720) 833-6645 and leave
a request for one. It will be mailed to
you promptly.

HOW MUCH WILL I BE PAID?

Rebate for all positions is at a rate of
$5.85/hr. with a maximum of $585.00
Your maximum earnings potential
will be determined by your current
residence property tax bill.
