The Board of Education in Sheridan is made up of five elected representatives who come from five director districts. Board members serve staggered terms so that no more than three members could be replaced in any given election. The next election for Board seats will be held in the fall of 2007.
The Board of Education takes great pride in the Sheridan School District and continually seeks new ways to create community involvement in our schools. The Board makes monthly community walks and participates in Sounding Boards with students, staff, parents and community members. The Sheridan Board of Education engaged the public in assisting with the development of a new Vision and Mission statement that will help guide the district.
The Board of Education meets the second Tuesday of each month (work session) and the fourth Tuesday of each month. On the Second Tuesday the Board meets in the conference room and on the fourth Tuesday the Board meets in the Board Room. Both the conference room and the Board Room are located at 4000 So. Lowell Blvd. The Regular Board Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. and the work session begins at 5 p.m. At the Regular Board meeting citizens have the opportunity to address the Board at the beginning and the end of the meeting. Minutes and agendas of Board meetings can be found on our web site. The Board of Education can be contacted by voice mail at 720-833-6619.
