Sheridan School District #2 is located in northern Arapahoe County, just south of Denver. It is bordered to the east by Englewood and to the south and west by Littleton. The district encompasses 4.5 square miles, and includes the City of Sheridan, as well as small portions of Englewood and Littleton. Sheridan is a close-knit and safe small town within a large metropolitan area.
The district’s 1,500 students attend five schools spread across a distance of under two miles. They are served by 12 administrators, 131 licensed teachers, and 112 classified staff. The Early Childhood Center houses the Head Start and Preschool programs. Sheridan High School and Sheridan Middle School are nearby and in close proximity to the Sheridan Recreation Center and the Sheridan City Offices which include the police and fire departments. The district’s two elementary schools are within one mile of these other three schools.
The Community
The Sheridan community is small and both economically and ethnically diverse. The spirit of this community is quite strong, characterized by a Board of Education made up of five elected representatives who come from five director districts.
